Data Flows FAQ

How to rename fields to be able to blend data?

Go to your Sources, click on the three dots next to the source you want to edit, click on Edit and click on Data Types.

How to do an ad-hoc data load?

The ad-hoc data load in the source can be used to reload data or even get historical data into your source. The ad-hoc in the flow will send whatever is in your source to your data warehouse. When loading historical data in the source, you should be careful with the API limits, in some cases you will need to load the data in smaller batches, such as 3-6-9 months. The data in the source will remain the same until the next refresh, in case you're doing ad-hoc make sure you're sending the data to your data warehouse. You can refresh manually to see the change immediately.

Inconsistent data coming from Dataddo compared to original source

First, check your scheduling, such as Timezone fields. Then check if the flow is running AFTER the source (give it some time to catch up). Some connectors, for instance, Facebook, Google, and Instagram, may have by default a delay for sending data, for example, Google Analytics can be late a day or ever a week delay can occur, therefore we recommend selecting data from 3 days ago.

Can I get access to this endpoint from an existing connector that I do not see in Dataddo?

Yes, contact us to enable this function available for the PRO subscription plan. To fast forward the process, provide us with more information on which field you are looking for.

How to delete sources connected to flows?

To delete a source, go to Sources and click on the three dots next to the source you wish to delete. A warning window will pop up for you to confirm the deletion. You will also see which flow was created using the source and will be automatically deleted afterward as well. To confirm, write DELETE into the box.

To delete a flow, go to Flows click on the three dots next to the source you wish to delete. To confirm, write DELETE into the box.

How to change existing flow?

Go to Flows, click on the three dots next to the flow you want to edit. You can edit the name of the flow, the source, scheduling, for the data warehouse you can edit write mode. Keep in mind the changes affect the outcome. For example, if you change the source with different numbers or names for the field, it may result in errors in your dashboarding app of wharehouse.

What can be changed in the existing flow?

Dashboarding app: flow name, schedule and data source/ Data warehouse: source, flow name, schedule, write mode, database name.

How the flow handles changes?

Any changes made in the structure of the table will break the flow. For instance: changing the data source, the data type of one field, remaining the fields. To fix this issue, you can drop the table in your data warehouse and force run the flow.

Why my flow doesn’t work when there are multiple columns with the same name?

While using the function data blending and combining columns from two different sources one issue that might occur is finding a duplicated table (such as ID). In this case, the columns can be renamed on the source page.

How to schedule flow after source?

Flows should always be scheduled after the source because the source extracts the data and flow inserts them to their destination. There is already an automatic feature that places the flow's schedule 2 hours after the source's schedule. To do it manually, simply click on the Re-schedule button on the flow and set it to time which is around 1-4 hours apart from the source.

Why is there no "next sync" date display in the data flow to my dashboarding app?

Dashboarding applications are being refreshed directly in the app, therefore there is no need to set up any schedule inside of Dataddo. You can either set up a schedule directly in the dashboarding app (if possible), or the data will automatically refresh every couple of hours (depending on the dashboarding app), or you can always refresh them whenever needed directly in the dashboarding app. But from Dataddo’s point of view, there is no schedule to be set up for a flow connecting a dashboarding app.

Can I connect more than one data source to flow?

When creating a data flow, you can select more than one source. This is only possible if the number and type of columns are the same. Please make sure that the columns are indeed the same or navigate to our guide for more information.
