# Power BI

Power BI is a business intelligence and data visualization tool provided by Microsoft. It allows users to connect to various data sources, transform and model data, and create interactive visualizations and reports.

With this destination, Dataddo stores the flow's data and Power BI pulls it in for reporting.

## Authorize Connection to Power BI

Authorize the connection so Dataddo can expose the data to Power BI:

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| A name for this authorizer in Dataddo | A label so you can recognize the connection later. |
| Dataddo token | Select the dataddo token to be used for this authorizer. This token will be used when querying Dataddo API. |

Dataddo validates the connection when you save it.

## Create a Power BI Destination

Go to Destinations, click Create Destination, and select Power BI. Give the destination a name, choose the authorizer, and click Save.

## Connect Power BI to Dataddo

Dataddo keeps the flow's data ready for Power BI to read. In Power BI, add a new data source that points to the Dataddo destination you created, using the credentials from the authorizer above. Power BI then loads the data and refreshes it on its own schedule.

## How to Create a Flow to Power BI

1. Go to Flows and click Create Flow.
2. Add one or more sources.
3. Add Power BI as the destination and pick the authorizer.
4. Set the schedule and click Save.
5. Open Power BI and connect to the data as described above.

## Troubleshooting

### Power BI shows no data

The flow has not run yet, or Power BI points at the wrong connection. Run the flow once, then confirm the connection details in Power BI match the authorizer.

### Cannot connect from Power BI

Reauthorize the connection in Dataddo and re-enter the credentials in Power BI.
