What Is a Source?

A source is a collection of data from a given service or system. In some cases, you might need to create multiple sources to collect all the data you want from a single service. Facebook, for example, has multiple APIs for paid and organic data, so if you wanted insights from both paid ads and organic posts, you would need to create multiple sources within the Dataddo platform. Whether or not these sources can be connected to a destination using the same flow depends on the specificity of the data in each source.

Read more about Sources in the dedicated article.

What is a destination?

A destination is anywhere you are sending your data. It could be a dashboarding app, Google Sheet, data warehouse or lake, CRM, marketing platform, help desk service, or any other operational tool. Each flow can be connected to only one destination.

Read more about the Destinations in the dedicated article.

What is a data flow?

A data flow is the connection between a data source or sources and a destination. For example, if you send data from Facebook Ads (source) to Google Data Studio (destination), this will count as one flow.

How easy is it to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my plan?

At any time, you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan from within the Dataddo app in just a few clicks.

Upgrades

Plan upgrades take effect immediately, giving you instant access to any additional flows and features. The new price of your upgraded plan will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. So, let’s say your billing period begins on the 1st of every month. On January 15th you decide to upgrade your plan. This will give you instant access to any new flows and features, but your bill for January will not increase. Your bill for February, however, will reflect the new pricing.

Downgrades

Plan downgrades take effect immediately, and any features not included in your downgraded plan will be lost. The new price of your downgraded plan will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. So, let’s say your billing period begins on the 1st of every month. On January 15th you decide to downgrade your plan. You will immediately lose access to any new flows and features, but your bill for January will not decrease. Your bill for February, however, will reflect the new pricing.

Cancellations

If you cancel a plan in the middle of a billing cycle, you will be able to use the cancelled plan until the end of that billing cycle. So, let’s say your billing period begins on the 1st of every month. On January 15th you decide to cancel your plan. You will be able to use Dataddo according to your cancelled plan until the end of January, and your bill for January will be the same as it was before the cancellation. Starting February 1st, you will no longer be billed.

FAQ

Data Sync Period

Represents the fastest period possible period when your data are automatically synchronized. More on data synchronizations.

Free Initial Historic Data Load

For the Standard plan, the historical data load is available up to 1 year, for the Business plan it is unlimited.

Multi-Account Extraction

With this feature, you can build a single template containing all required metrics and your automation schedule which will apply to all pages or accounts on the specific 3rd party service you're working with.

Multi-account extraction use case

You control one Facebook account that has admin privileges for 25 Facebook Pages. One template can be configured to automatically extract the desired dataset from all 25 accounts without setting each one up individually.

Multiplexing

Circumvent API data limitations with this feature that automatically creates multiple interval-led queries, allowing for larger data extractions.

Multiplexing use case

Google Analytics API only allows 10,000 rows per query but your needs call for 14,000 rows. Dataddo automatically configures 2 separate calls in order to extract all of the necessary data.

Priority in Connector Roadmap

Our implementation team is constantly adding new connectors for various services. Priority in Connector Roadmap gives you the ability to suggest new connectors to be added to our roadmap. We look to our users to inspire future development and our two-week dev cycle means new connectors are added all the time!

What are user accounts per company?

This refers to the number of users who can manage a company account within Dataddo.

What is an initial historical data Load?

When you create a Data Source, the Standard and Business plans give you the option to immediately extract historical data during the initial sync. Standard allows you to load up to 1 year into the past, while Business allows unlimited historical data.

What is multi-account extraction?

Multi-account extraction allows the user to extract data from multiple accounts within the same source, such as if you manage several Instagram accounts and need to pull data from all of them. Although Standard Dataddo users are limited to 10 accounts per source, Business users can extract data from unlimited accounts.

What is multiplexing?

For large data volumes with extraction limitations, multiplexing allows Dataddo to make multiple simultaneous requests to retrieve all necessary data at once.

What does exclusion of PII data mean?

Unlike other ETL platforms, you can choose the specific type of data you want to extract. Easily unselect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) during the source creation process.

What are customizable data sets?

Because of the way some 3rd party services structure their APIs, some of our connectors have predefined data sets. On Business, you are not limited to the metrics of that particular data set, every data set in Dataddo is fully customizable to your needs so that you can change the metrics and dimensions as you see fit.
